President – Brian Tolhurst:
ESHS/EACS have written to the Club asking for assistance with sending two Tournament Of Minds teams to Queensland.
To go to next Directors’ meeting.
 
Club Service – Kerr Fulton-Peebles:
  6 October - Rotary Hats night – wear a silly hat.
13 October - DG visit – Directors to fill out questionnaire and return to Kerr.
25 September – International sausage sizzle at Bunnings.
 
Vocational – David Ford:
Still a possibility of some EACS students participating in 4 Way Test competition.
Apologised for lateness of Bulletin
Called for a volunteer to do the Bulletin for next 4 weeks – Richard Moore volunteered.
Testing of ClubRunner Event page successful.
 
Community – Garry Wilson:
Emergency Services Day went off well
 – good RCEB team set up small marquee with assistance from some Fireys and then did traffic management.
Sundowner good, followed by debrief at Lee’s and Paul’s.
Paul W gave speech re the Day and thanked Garry.
 
International – Jeff Buckman:
World Polio Day on 24 September. Two cases in Nigeria this year. Still working on eradication. $1.5 million still required.
An International Dinner night will be organised to raise funds. 
 
Youth – Peter Fox:
Via Kerr – Two EACS students interested in the Rotary Short Term Exchange program (4-6 weeks in another country).
 
Prickle Farm – Peter Schmedje/Fleur McDonald:
341 ewes to the mutton market - $75/head. Good result.
Thanked Bob Jones for checking this week.
Quick meeting to be held after meeting.

Programming heads up. Speaker for 3 November will be John Christianson who will talk about the Australian Constitution’s history and how we can change it. He can only speak on the Thursday night so Chris Roberts, RC Esperance would like a joint meeting.

Emergency Medical Information Booklet available from St John’s for a gold coin donation – very useful.
Katie W –
Gave an amusing account of a makeup she made at RCE.
Dong Hua G –
Her week included the Emergency Services Day (a lovely day that showed people what ES does); an Athletic Carnival where she was awarded a first, a second and fourth in three different events.
Renae P –
School holidays from this Friday – if anyone can take Dong Hua on outings please let Renae know.

Fleur McDonald introduced Helen Devenish
Helen spoke to members about the Umbrella Project - Improving the Resilience of Esperance Youth
Problems of youth – suicide, unemployment, depression, anxiety, drug use and crime.
Working towards a not-for-profit organisation to implement long term strategies. Need to get baseline data from ESHA, EACS and Wongutha in October 2016; results; then formulate long term strategies. Costs $7.70 per student therefore need seed funding of $11,500. Full funding required $30,000.
